/Magnetostrictive Sensors
Magnetostrictive sensors provide an extremely accurate and reliable solution for measuring linear position and movement in demanding industrial applications. They are based on a contactless magnetostrictive measuring principle, which ensures wear‑free operation, long service life, and excellent repeatability. Magnetostrictive sensors are widely used in hydraulic cylinders, mobile machinery, industrial automation systems, process industry applications, and other environments where high measurement precision and robustness are required.
Our product range includes Gefran magnetostrictive sensors available in both profile and rod‑style designs. Rod‑style sensors are particularly well suited for integration into hydraulic cylinders, while profile‑type sensors offer an easy solution for external linear position measurement. These sensors provide absolute position measurement over long measuring lengths, and multi‑position measurement is possible using multiple magnetic cursors when required.
Magnetostrictive sensors are available with a wide range of output signals and communication interfaces, including analog current and voltage outputs as well as digital interfaces such as SSI, CANopen, PROFINET, EtherCAT, and IO‑Link. The sensors are designed for harsh operating conditions, offering high mechanical strength, excellent EMC immunity, and a wide operating temperature range. If required, solutions can be customized to meet specific application needs.
