Emergency stop devices are used for the immediate shutdown of machines, equipment, and conveyor systems in hazardous situations, where fast and reliable operation is critical for personnel safety and equipment protection. Emergency stop devices are installed in easily accessible locations close to machines and processes, especially in areas that cannot be fully protected by fixed guards.

Our product range includes IDEM Safety emergency stop switches and stations, available in durable plastic or 316 stainless steel housings. The devices feature a positive mechanical linkage between the actuator and the contacts and are mechanically latched, requiring a manual reset to return to normal operation in accordance with EN ISO 13850. Multiple contact configurations, connection options, and accessories such as protective shrouds and LED status indicators are available to suit different applications.

Emergency stop devices can be connected to safety relays or safety controllers and can achieve functional safety up to PLe / Category 4 depending on the system architecture. IP67‑ and IP69K‑rated versions are suitable for harsh industrial and washdown environments, including food, pharmaceutical, and process industries.
